Ongoing fun with the Sony A7R and 24 – 70mm Zeiss Lens
Today I went out again to shoot with the new Sony A7R camera. So far I am loving it for the type of photography I do. I have been able to configure the camera the way I like to work. The lens feels substantial and rests easily in my hand, but is not too bulky. Of course this camera will mainly live on a tripod for landscape work. The beauty of going this mirrorless route is that I will carry 2 cameras with me. Currently the NEX-6 with a 55 – 210mm lens and the A7R with the 24 – 70 mm lens. I have the NEX-6 on a Black Rapid type strap that gives me access to it quickly. When the Alpha 6000 is released I will replace the NEX-6 with the Alpha. The NEX or A6000 will be used for street photography or the occasional landscape shot that needs a telephoto lens.
Now these 2 photos were both handheld. The one was taken at 1/13 second at f22. That’s incredible that I could do this and still get a picture like this!
Settings: iso 125, 1/13 sec, f22
Settings: iso 125, 1/125 sec, f7.1
